35th Church Anniversary Celebrations

We've worked really hard over the past 12 months to prepare for our 35th Church Anniversary Celebrations. We launched one fundraising appeal, #Spend-a-Penny' back in March which aimed to raise money for two international charities, Aquabox and Toilet-Twinning.

The past twelve months: Our first meeting took place on Thursday 24th January 2019 in Epworth Room in the Church Hall and was attended by 17 folk, willing in both generosity of spirit and time. We had a fabulous discussion and are keen to move forward. We've had our final meeting to finalise what the weekend will look like and how we are going to fund it. Again, there was some fantastic ideas and great conversation. Thank you to all who have attended both meetings and gave up their time to shape our 35th Anniversary Celebrations.

To help fund the weekend we launched our Smarties Tube appeal in March 2019 at REVOLUTION. We raised a staggering £1200 towards our charitable fundraising appeals.

We held a Quiz Night (with Faggots) along with a Fish & Chip Supper, and created an online giving page on our website homepage.

Thursday 20th June 2019 - We completed our Aquabox and raised £150 to send it to family of six who have been devastated by natural disaster. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated either items or money. It is a real blessing that we've been able to support such a worthy charity as part of our 35th Anniversary Celebrations.

We counted all the coins in our toilet at the back of church and have £323.50 which, in addition to the £40+ profit from the fish & chip supper, we have now sponsored 6 'twinned' toilets with a donation of £360+. A WONDERFUL effort.

We have a jam-packed programme this weekend, so do come along to all or part of it. We continue to thank God for the many blessed He bestows upon us and we look forward to the coming years as we seek to do His will, and His will alone.
